In my time getting to know Emma Simon, a NYC-based actor, singer, and theatre educator, I’ve learned that you simply can’t put her in a box. Known for her physical comedy and total commitment to the “bit,” Emma has been described as “nothing short of hysterically funny” (Berkshire Bright Star). From the stage to the classroom, Emma has left me — and entire audiences — in stitches with her finely-tuned comedy craft. But she also has a softer side, and that’s what we wanted to include in our photoshoot for her recent website redesign launch.

During our session, we worked together to create a mix of images that showcased her versatility, from her bold, expressive theater headshots to more subtle, natural portraits that highlighted her emotional range. It was INCREDIBLE to see the professional headshots we created together come to life on her newly launched website, helping her stand out in the competitive world of NYC theatre and beyond.

Fun story about this sweater: Emma brought a few outfit options and we knew we needed to capture this shimmery, purple skirt. I happened to have this extra sweater on hand and in a eureka moment told her to put it on. The colors in this sweater ended up informing the website redesign and the colors you see in some of the headlines and buttons. :)
